LABORER

At MetalSort, we specialize in buying ferrous and non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, stainless steel and more. We collect, process, and sort metals into proper categories to be shipped to mills for recycling purposes. Although we are a new scrapyard in Phoenix, we have 15 years of experience working within the scrap metal industry.

We are in search of a dedicated and hardworking employee to join our team. We require an individual who is comfortable working with their hands in a fast-paced environment. Job Duties:
 

•   Sorting and separating different types of metals

•   Operating heavy machinery, such as forklifts, bobcats, and excavators

•   Moving scrap metal from one location to another within the yard: using hand trucks, wheelbarrows, or other equipment

•   Loading and unloading trucks

•   Cleaning and maintaining the yard and equipment

•   Assisting customers with unloading and weighing their scrap metal

•   Using tools to cut and process scrap metal

•   Assisting with inventory management and tracking

•   Following safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

•   Working in all weather conditions

•   Unloading boxes, pallets, and bundles

•   Disassembling electronic devices, cutting wire, and removing automobile parts

•   Work with various tools to process scrap metal

•   Light landscaping duties

•   Housekeeping – sweeping, cleaning, shoveling, and debris collection

•   Clean work area at the end of shift

•   Keep yard clean and organized

•   Punctuality and regular attendance is expected

•   Organizing materials to have more effective use of space

•   Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner

Physical Requirements
 

•   Work Environment: Scrap metal yard, outdoor

•   Equipment & Tools: Yard equipment, hand tools, and PPE.

•   Physical Demand Level: Moderate to heavy

•   Work Capacity: Laborer Work Capacity

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
